About
Mia was born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1986.
She completed Master's Studies program at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Belgrade, under the mentorship of prof. Dr. Vesne Knežević, 2022.
Previously she graduated from the Faculty of Contemporary Arts, Department of Painting in Belgrade in 2014. in the class of Professor Dr. Saša Filipović.
She also holds an Art Teacher diploma that she obtained from The College of Fine and Applied Arts in 2009.

So far, she has realized nine solo exhibitions and participated in more than 60 group exhibitions. Her paintings are part of many private collections mostly throughout Europe. She has been a member of ULUS-Association of Fine Artists of Serbia since 2012, ULUPUDS-Association of Fine Artists of Applied Arts and Designers of Serbia since 2014, and HDLU- Association of Fine Artists of Croatia since 2021.
Moving away from mimetic painting I want to excite the senses. In my paintings color is emancipated, and so are forms, I consider themselves enough expressive and powerful elements with immense potential. Passion for exploration, energy and self-reflection give me encouragement to walk boldly down the paths of art. The introspective principle, and not the imitation of direct influences and role models, have greatly qualitatively influenced the development and affirmation of my poetics. For me the painted world has no temporal and spatial determinants, it is a universe in itself. In it, real, experienced and imagined worlds intersect, not aiming to imitate life, but to find the equivalent of life. Nevertheless, Life and Nature themselves are always the starting point for further artistic exploration.
